About

Welcome, dear reader. It’s a great privilege and pleasure to have you here. Thank you for choosing to check out my written work.

I’m an engineer-turned journalist, an alumna of BITS, Pilani & the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai. I’m the Co-founder & Co-editor of the online literary magazine, Spark, that was started in January 2010, and aims to explore the word, world, and wisdom through writings, art and photography. I’m the author of ‘Fragments of the Whole’, a flash-fiction collection and ‘Ways Around Grief & Other Stories’, a short-story collection. I’m a Creative Specialist with expertise in content strategy and management, editing and design.

It’s hard to imagine what life would be like for me without writing. As someone who has been writing seriously in the online space since 2004, I have been privileged to enjoy a readership that has made me believe that I have brought them joy and a feeling of ‘been there, done that’ through my words. It’s priceless, this feeling of making someone happy with what you can express through words.

This website is a dream come true for me – it’s an amalgamation of what I enjoy writing, what I stand for and believe in, and what I dream of and imagine about life and such. I have captured my perceptions through poems, essays, stories, interviews and features. The one tag that would fit every single post of this website is ‘Life is like that’ – the name I have given my written portfolio. I am fascinated by human life, the people who live it, the experiences they go through, the relationships they get into and the huge fabric of emotions they experience. Much of my writing revolves around this. I love to observe, imagine and express the result of marrying the two through words. I hope you will find my pieces engaging, relate-able and enriching.

I have been featured in several leading newspapers and online magazines/journals including The Hindu Literary Review, The Economic Times, The Hindu Business Line’s BLink, Scroll.in, YourStory and The Journal of Commonwealth Literature. To know more, please click here.
